[영국 여행] 런던타워 Tower of London

템즈강 북쪽에 자리한 런던타워.

여러 건물로 이루어진 런던타워.

낮은 건물이 대부분이지만 사진의 화이트타워로 인해 런던 타워라는 이름이 붙여졌고

11세기에 지어진 타워는 런던을 지키는 요새였었다.

La Tour de Londres prend son nom de la Tour Blanche,
construite au 11eme siecle comme forteresse pour proteger Londres.
The Tower of London got its name from the White Tower, built in 11th century as a fortress to protect London.

타워을 관람 방법은 두 가지.

시간에 맞추어 구룹이 되어 무료 가이드의 안내에 따라 둘러 보거나

그냥 개인이 원하는 대로 다니면서 둘러 보는 것.

타워 내에서는 여러가지 공연이 벌어져 런던의 옛 문화를 잠시나마 느낄 수 있다.
